Fashion Hairdresser. New York @titoguhair // www.folio
What was the situation in which this photo was taken?
I collect hats and eyeglasses, I bought that new hat and felt dapper…Selfie time!
Could you tell us something about what you do?
I’m a celebrity and fashion hairdresser. I work in photo studios or on locations.
How did you first become interested in it?
I come from a family of engineers… My father almost fainted when I went to school to become a hairdresser… I wanted to have my name printed on fashion magazines to make him proud. I’ve travelled the world a few times now, and I can say, mission accomplished, he is very proud of me!
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
Working with different people and different places everyday! Travelling to places I never thought I’d see!
What are you working on at the moment?
I work often with celebrity Bridget Moynahan, Jessica James Decker, and fashion photo shoots!
What are the challenges in what you do, and how do you overcome them?
It’s not all up to me to decide what I’m doing with the hair on a shoot. I have to hear what the art director and the photographer want me to do. I don’t always agree but I always say my ideas and we work it all out together!
Could you describe your personal style?
Funky and chic…
What is your present state of mind?
I am the happiest I’ve been in my life! I’ve been married to my husband Janeiro for two years now but together for eighteen years. We live in a beautiful house with our three minpins! Work is good and life is beautiful.
What music are you listening to at the moment?
Which artists or designers inspire you?
I love John Galliano and always loved Ertè and Warhol.
What is the purpose of art, in your view?
To trigger something in you that inspires you to create your own, to make you feel anything from sadness to brightness.
How do you spend your free time?
At home, working on our property. We have 13 acres… Lots of work. We have a view of the valley and mountains and the sun sets there everyday. I really enjoy it.
