A Personal Trainer from Manchester, UK @s_e_fitness
What was the situation in which this photo was taken
I had been training for two hours, on my back and arms. I wanted to take a pic to document the progress I have been making over the last year.
Could you tell us something about what you do
I recently passed my exams for personal training and have started training others. My main focus is weight loss, as I’ve lost 5 stone myself in the last year, from training and eating right, so I want to pass this knowledge on to others that are struggling with weight issues.
How did you first become interested in personal training
I saw my wedding photos, and was shocked at how big I had become, so I got into the gym, taught myself a training programme using YouTube and tweaked it along the way with help from friends. When I saw the results, I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life.
What do you enjoy most about what you do
I love the reactions I get from people after a workout, the pain they feel, but how they love it, cuz they know they’ve been worked hard and then when they start seeing the results of those workouts.
What are you working on at the moment
Just working on building up my client list. I want to open up my own studio for classes and personal training sessions.
What are the challenges in what you do, and how do you overcome them
There are so many personal trainers in the world, and everyone is competing by giving good prices. Until you can prove that your methods work and establish a good name for yourself through your other clients, you gotta start off charging small.
Could you describe your personal style
Dedicated, motivated, determined.
What is your present state of mind
I just want to get to the best version of me. I have a goal of hitting 100kg in weight, I was 140kg, I have 8kg to drop before I start up a new goal.
What music are you listening to at the moment
I listen to anything really, from classical to death metal. I have the most random playlists on my iPhone.
Which artists or designers inspire you
I wouldn’t say artists or designers inspire me…Anyone who is out there, plugging away and putting in the hard work to make themselves better inspires me!
What is the purpose of art, in your view
To show the world how your mind works, to show what’s on your mind.
How do you spend your free time
I’m either in the gym working on myself, or working on others. I have a full time job working in social media, so any free time I have is used spending it with my wife or in the gym :p
